2026 and how it’s going

It always feels like we need to set so many goals for the new year and be a whole new person. For some of us, it is a fresh start from things that have fallen off our radar.

This year, our family started off quite sick and I fell sick three times back to back. I would recover only to fall sick again.

God knows, I have told Him many times in the last few weeks how this isn’t the story I had in mind for 2026. Remember, my word for the year is glory, God?

As I write this, I don’t feel too great and I’m continuing to pray for healing. I do trust that God works all things together for our good so this too will be for His glory?

There are so many prayer requests from friends and family that has piled up in the last few weeks. Clearly, the start to 2026, has not been great. But we continue to pray. God is still on His throne and He loves us.

I’ve set two goals in the midst of all this, to do the Bible in one year and to stay off social media as much as possible. I have uninstalled all the apps on my phone so here’s to hoping it works. Less scrolling, more time praying and creating.

Social media doesn’t have to be the place I release my creativity. There are other outlets and maybe I can create just for the joy of creating? Let’s see!

A goal I had for the last few years was to read one book a month. It was awesome and these books shaped me in so many ways. I’m going to try to read as many books as I can this year too though it’s not one of my goals. I’m hoping it becomes more of a lifestyle than a goal I have to pursue every year. I’m currently reading ‘Double Blessing’ by Mark Batterson.

This is how my year is going so far. I hope you’ve had a better start to your year! I would love to know what your goals for the year are if you’ve set any.

Lots of love,

Neeba
